# update_status

> Change the status of a posta addressed to the current user, or snooze it until a date. Only the recipient can do it.

> Change the status of a posta addressed to the current user (done, dismissed, accepted, blocked, seen, open) or snooze it until a date. Only the recipient can change a posta's status.

**Annotations:** `readOnlyHint: false`, `idempotentHint: true`, `destructiveHint: false`, `openWorldHint: false`.

## Input

At least one of `status` and `snooze_until`.

**id** `string` *required*

Posta id, as shown by `list_inbox`.

**status** `string`

One of `open`, `seen`, `accepted`, `blocked`, `done`, `dismissed`. Any status can change to any other.

**snooze\_until** `string`

Hide it from the inbox until this date, without changing its status. ISO 8601 with UTC offset, in the future and at most 180 days ahead.

Each change records an event (`status_changed` with the old and new status, or `snoozed` with the date). Setting the status it already has records nothing.

## Errors

`You can only set the status of postas addressed to you.` when you sent the posta. `Posta <id> not found.` when it isn't yours at all. See [Errors](/mcp/errors.md).
